Rather than be Ignorant, Learn More About the Bible.

There’s a certain blog came up mid-2007, the article of Sam Jordison on “Gardian Unlimited” entitled “The Bible’s Literary’s Sin”. The writer views that the Bible is a “readable mess”. He has so many ignorant claims about Bible, some are this …

“...that Jesus in the New testament is an unforgiving egomaniac, obsessed with demons, who likes nothing more than to have his dirty feet kissed (Luke 7:44-5). They might also see that the God they pray to, is, as Evelyn Waugh once quoted Randolph Churchill, “a shit.” Failing that, literalists might at least start taking the instructions about not eating shellfish as seriously as they do those that encourage homophobia, and so lessen the burden on our over-fished seas.”

“...it was an incredible achievement to transform the sow’s ear of the New Testament’s rough koine Greek into the silk purse that has resounded so strongly in our culture ever since.

Personally I can say this Sam Jordison is so idiot in terms of Bible. Like what Bro. Eli Soriano says “ I wonder how stupid idiot, who does not even know how to read precisely, like Jordison, can be a literary critics.” in his article answering Jordison’s blog when someone ask him about it.

Christ is not an “unforgiving egomaniac”

Christ of the Bible is not an “unforgiving egomaniac" who likes nothing more than His dirty feet kissed”. The writer of the Gospel of Luke is a physician - a medical doctor. Colossians 4:14 “Luke, the beloved physician, and Demas, greet you.”

You cannot see in the Gospel of Luke that the feet of Christ were dirty when kissed by a repenting woman; and never did the Lord Jesus asked the woman to kissed His feet.

Luke was the only writer of the Gospel who specifically mentioned Christ was laid in a manger. Being a physician, a sanitary measure is one of the main concerns of a medical doctor, which shows the extra-ordinary person of Christ. Luke 2:6-7 “And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.”

What a Crap! Using Bible to Earn Money

        Jordison learned about Bro. Eli’s Article answering his stupidity and ignorance about the Bible and he commented on it saying “I don’t know if you’re quite followed all the arguments in my post… I think the KJV is pretty well written too.I’m not sure if I’ll be coming back here as I’m finding the experience a bit – uh- unsettling, but do feel free to post on my blog again… I’m sure we can have an interesting discussion.”  

      But after saying that he came back to Bro Eli Soriano’s blog promoting his new book saying.”Hey, listen, I wrote a book you chaps might find interesting: The Joy Of Sects. You should be able to pick up a copy from amazon.co.uk…

Thanks for the continued interest in my article by the way, I’m really quite thrilled that you’ve gone to so much effort.” Selling a book? What a shame to make other people believe that Bible is a “readable mess” just to earn money for yourselves..

       Well, I’m not amazed that there’s someone like Sam Jordison in this word. the likes of him has been mentioned in the Bible. It is stated in John 8:47 “He that is of God heareth God’s words: ye therefore hear them not,because ye are not of God” Another was mentioned in 2 Peter 2:12 “But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption…”

Paano nga ba natin dapat palakihin ang ating mga anak? Bilang isang magulang ang nais lamang natin ay ang mga makabubuti lamang sa kanila. Ginagawa natin ang lahat para maibigay ang mga pangangailangan nila mula sa damit, pagkain, pag-aaral at minsan kahit alam natin na di na kailangan ay binibigay pa rin mapasaya lamang ang mga anak natin, pero ano ba talaga ang tamang paggabay sa mga kabataan.

MGA KABATAAN NOON at NGAYON:

Naalala ko noon isang sitsit lang ng mga nanay o tatay nanginging na ang mga bata sa pag-uwi kahit pa gaano sila kalayo, isang tingin lang ng magulang ay alam na ng bata na mali ginawa niya at mananahimik na. Ngayon ang mga bata ilang tawag na di ka pa din nadidinig at minsan kahit nasa tabi mo na di ka papansinin, ang masama pa mas matapang pa sila sa mga magulang at laging may katuwiran. Noon pag may pinabibili ka at sinabi ng nanay o tatay mo na saka na o di pwede tatahimik ka na lang at hihintayin kailan ka pwedeng ibili, samantalang ngayon kahit nasa mall ka iiyakan ka ng mga bata para ibili mo sila. Natatandaan ko pa “high school” ka na ay naglalaro ka pa ng patentero, luksong tinik, tumbang preso, piko, at marami pang iba, ngayon elemetarya pa lang ay may kasintahan na, nakakalungkot ay kinuknsinti pa ng ga magulang. Dati-rati maaga pa lang a nasa loob na ng bahay ang mga bata at kung lalabas sila ay nagpapaalam sa mga magulang at uuwi sa tinakdang oras, ngayon halos umaga na kung umuwi ang mga kabataan para lang sa mga kalayawan, at pag di pinyagan ay magrerebelde pa. Bakit nga ba?

MAKABAGONG TEKNOLOHIYA AT KAPALIGIRAN MALAKING IMPLUWENSIYA

Minsan nagtatanong ako bakit nga ba ganito, di man lahat ay karamihan ng mga kabataan ngayon ay naliligaw ng landas. Dapat ba isisi lahat ito sa mga magulang? Marami ng makabagong teknolohiya ngayon tulad ng “cellphones”, “tablets”, iPad, at marami pang iba, at dahil din dito madali na ang ang magpakalat ng mga bagay na makakaimpluwensiya sa ating mga anak, masama man o mabuti. Katulad na lang ngayon may mga mahahalay na palabas na kumakalat sa mga “social media” tulad ng Facebook, Twitter at You tube na sa tingin ko ay hindi magandang impluwensiya sa mga kabataan kung ito ay mapapanood. Isang video at litrato ang kumakalat ngayon ng isang singer na nagngangalang Miley Cyrus na kung saan ay di magandang impluwensya sa mga kabataan. Isang mahalay na panoorin na sa tingin ko ay di na dapat pa ipakalat, lalo na maraming kabataan ngayon ang nakaka access nito. Nakakalungkot isipin na kailangan magpakalat ng ganito para lamang kumita kahit alam naman natin na hindi ito magandang halimbawa sa mga kabataan. Minsan ay nasa kapaligiran din ng mg kabataan ang dahilan kung bakit sila nagkakaganito. Sabi nga nila kung ano nakikita ng bata ay siya rin ang gagawin nito. Tamang paggabay ng mga magulang ang kailangan ng mga kabataan ngayon lalo na sa mga lumalabas na alam natin makakasama sa ating mga anak.

BIBLIA: TAMANG PAGGABAY SA ANAK

Sabi sa 2Timoteo 3:1-4 “Datapuwa’t alamin mo ito, na sa mga huling araw ay darating ang mga panahong mapanganib.Sapagka’t ang mga tao’y magiging maibigin sa kanilang sarili, maibigin sa salapi, mayayabang, mga mapagmalaki, mapagtungayaw, masuwayin sa mga magulang, mga walang pasalamat, mga walang kabanalan,Walang katutubong pagibig, mga walang paglulubag, mga palabintangin, mga walang pagpipigil sa sarili, mga mabangis, hindi mga maibigin sa mabuti, Mga lilo, mga matitigas ang ulo, mga palalo, mga maibigin sa kalayawan kay sa mga maibigin sa Dios; “ na ang ibig sabihin ay sadyang magiging masuwayin ang mga tao sa darating na mga panahon. Pero nasusulat din sa Biblia na nasa tamang paggabay lamang ng magulang ang kailangan para mapabuti ang ating mga anak gaya ng sabi sa Kawikaan 22:6 “Turuan mo ang bata sa daan na dapat niyang lakaran, At pagka tumanda man siya ay hindi niya hihiwalayan.”. Di ko masasabi na isa akong perpektong magulang, may mga pagkukulang din ako bilang isang ina ngunit sa awa’t tulong ng Dios ay pinipilit kong magabayan ang aking mga anak sa dapat nilang lakaran. Marami rin akong mga tanong tulad ng ibang magulang kung papaano ko mapapalaki ng maayos ang aking mga anak. Nais ko lang sanang ibahagi ang ilang kasagutan sa ating mga tanong mula sa Biblia sa pamamagitan ni Bro.Eli Soriano:

          Most people believe that the Bible is only written by man. This must be right, but its written by man. God authorized men to write His words because it is for men to understand not for animals or other creatures He made. 

         The Bible is the only book inspired by God. It is the book where the word of God is written. This is the only book that carries the authentication not coming from the knowledge of man. The knowledge it contains is beyond human understanding and this is because it is inspired by no less than the most powerful being in the universe, God.

          

Scientific Truth and the Bible: The Earth is Round and not Flat

       Before, men believed that the earth is just a flat surface, but the Bible revealed the truth, which is the fact that the earth is round 3000 years before man saw it. 

Isaiah 40:22 "It is he that sits on the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretches out the heavens as a curtain, and spreads them out as a tent to dwell in:" 

Amos 9:6 "It is he that builds his stories in the heaven, and has founded his troop in the earth; he that calls for the waters of the sea, and pours them out on the face of the earth: The LORD is his name." 

These verses prove that the earth is round.

          Now a days technologies is so advanced we can talk and see our loved ones even if they are miles away. Through the use of cellphones you can call or talk to anyone wherever you are, more so with the use of computers. Travelling fast to various places has never been that easier, too! But do you know that even this improvement in our life is also written in the Bible.

Daniel 12:4 "But you, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be" 

This verse proves that prior to man's idea of gadgets such us cellphones, laptop, tablets, iPads and many more; it has already been foretold in the Bible.

Ethics and the Bible

          Not only "prophecies" is written in the Bible. It is also the only book that teaches us how to become worthy to receive God's mercy. 

Ephesians 6:2 "Honor your father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise;" 

Colossians 3:20 "Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing to the Lord." 

Ephesians 6:4 "And, you fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord." 

Colossians 3:1 "And, you fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord." 

These verses teaches us how children must treat their parents and how parents should treat to their children. 

The Bible even teaches us on how to deal with our enemy. 

Matthew 5:44 "But I say to you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which spitefully use you, and persecute you;" 

Luke 6:27 "But I say to you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which spitefully use you, and persecute you;".  

          God inspires us through this book not only to do good for others but to learn how we can attain His salvation. I know not all people believe in the Bible but here are some artifacts witch proves the authentication of this book.

     Ano nga ba ang kaligtasan o salvation? Maraming iba't ibang paniniwala paano tayo maliligtas. May nagsasabi na basta maniwala ka lang ay ligtas ka na. Ang Pagtawag

          

            Sabi ng ilang taong tunay na nakakakilala sa akin ang buhay ko daw parang telenobela. Bata pa lang ako ang dami ko ng tanong na di masagot ng kahit na sino. Gusto kong tanungin ang Dios noon bakit ganun parang "unfair", bakit parang di Nya ako mahal? Pero lahat ng tanong at agam-agam ay sinagot Nya sa pamamagitan ng isang tao, si Bro. Eli Soriano
         Bata pa lang ako ramdam ko na mas mahal ng magulang ko ang kapatid ko. Mas pinapaboran nila ang kapatid ko kesa sa akin, siya laging tama at ako mali. Kahit sa mga kamag- anak ko naramdaman ko din na iba ako sa kanila. Kahit anong gawin kong paraan para mapalapit sa kanila ay parang kulang pa din. Minsan gusto kong maniwala sa mga tukso sa akin na "ampon" ako.
       Naghanap ako ng atensyon sa ibang tao. Napabarkada ako, natuto ako ng iba't ibang kalayawan, alak, sigarilyo. Kulang na lang sirain ko ng tuluyan ang buhay ko. Ni hindi ko pinapakinggan ang mga payo ng aking mga magulang . Pakiramdam ko hinihigpitan nila ako. Hanggang makilala ko si Joel, siya yung tipo ng tao na kabaligtaran ko. Mabait, walang bisyo at higit sa lahat makaDios.
          Nagpakasal at nagsama kami, noon palang alam ko na naghahanap siya ng tunay na Iglesia. Ilan sa mga
relihiyon ay sinuri niya. Hanggang mabanggit ng nanay niya na may napanood siya na isang programa na may nagtatanong at sinasagot lahat base sa Biblia. Doon niya sinimulan subaybayan ang programang Ang Dating Daan ni Bro. Eli Soriano. Di nagtagal nagpadoktrina at nagpabautismo siya ng di ko alam. Nakipaghiwalay ako sa kanya 
ng halos isang taon. 
         Ng mga panahong iyon ay nagkasakit ako at halos di na ako makatayo. Hindi ako makakain, lahat ng pagkain ay ayaw tanggapin ng panlasa ko. Halos buto't balat na ako. Pinagamot ako ng asawa ko at kinuha niya kami ulit. Sa awa't tulong ng Dios unti-unting bumuti ang lagay ko. Isinasama niya ako sa mga pagkakatipon, sa mga Bible Expositions. Iba ang pakiramdam, napakagaan sa loob. Inimbitahan niya ako sa Doktrina, sumama ako pero dalawang araw lang. Parang marami pa akong agam-agam.
        Dumating ang araw na halos gumuho na ang mundo ko dahil sa isang pagsubok na aming naranasan sa aming pagsasama, na nagiging problema din ng ibang magasawa, kasabay nito ang madalas na pagkakasakit ng aming mga anak. Tinatanong ko ang Dios, bakit Nya ako pinabayaan? Hanggang sa di sinasadyang malipat ko ang channel ng tv sa UNTV ng programang Ang Dating Daan, di ko mapigilang umiyak at lumuhod, halos lahat ng tanong ko ay nasagot. 
              Di na ako nagdalawang isip nagpadoktrina ako at nagpabautismo. Akala ko tapos na ang lahat ng problema, hindi pa pala mas matindi pa ng halos itakwil ako ng mga magulang ko ng umanib ako sa MCGI (Members Church of God International). Pinilit kong magpakatatag sa awa't tulong ng Dios. Dumating din sa aming buhay na nakaranas kami ng pagsaway ng Dios, napatigil kaming mag-asawa sa aming paglilingkod. At dumaan ang ilang buwan na puro sakit at problema ang aming hinarap, ngunit may mga kapatid pa rin na nagmamalasakit at inaalalayan kami.
           Unti-unting naayos ang pagsasama naming magasawa. At dahil sa awa ng Dios, muli kaming nakabalik sa aming paglilingkod. Noon ko lalong naramdaman na mahal kami ng Dios ng isa isang dumating ang mga tungkulin sa aming mag-asawa sa loob ng Iglesia. Nakasama ako sa ADD Music Ministry sa aming lokal, at nagging isa sa mga opisyales ng local, kasama ng aking asawa. 
            Nagpapasalamat ako sa Dios, dahil tinawag Niya ako sa loob ng Iglesia, at sa muling pagtitiwala Niya sa aming mag-asawa. Salamat sa Dios dahil sa mga mangangaral na nag-akay sa amin sa totoong Iglesia, si Kapatid na Eli Soriano at Kapatid na Daniel Razon ay madami akong natutunan sa buhay. Ngayon alam ko na sa awa't tulong Dios kung bakit ko naranasan ang lahat ng ito. Salamat sa Dios sa lahat ng kanyang mga kaloob na di masayod.  
                
         "Datapuwa't hanapin muna ninyo ang kaniyang kaharian, at ang kaniyang katuwiran; at ang lahat ng mga bagay na ito ay  idaragdag sa inyo."- Mateo 6:33

     

The most precious gift of my life

   I was so happy when I've learned that there's a gift of life inside of me. But so many questions, so many tears I shed when I gave birth to a baby boy 15 years ago. When I saw him fighting for his life inside the incubator, my heart broke. He was there for almost 2 months. After 4 months,I learned that he cannot see. We brought him to specialists, but all of them told us he has Retinopathy of prematurity. I cried for a year.
     Years passed by, we noticed that he can't communicate well, he always mimicking what he heard. Again, we brought him to specialist and learned that he has slight autism. His mental growth is 5 years younger than his age. I can't accept the fact that my son is blind and autistic. I ask God why? What I have done, do I deserve this? Am I a bad person? Why He gave me a child with disabilities? 
     Until I heard Bro. Eli Soriano's preaching about special children and persons with disabilities. I cried, not because I felt sorry, but because I learned that God loves me so much that He gave me the most precious gift in our life, my son. God gave me my son to learn more how life is so wonderful and how God loves us so much. 
        We love you so much Kuya John Lloyd and we're proud to say we have a son like you.

       These were some of the verses which enlightened me through the preaching of  Bro. Eli Soriano :

• Romans 8:28 "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.,
• Psalms 100:5 "For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting;and his truth endureth to all generations."
• 2 Corinthians 9:15 "Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift.

         Now, every time I listen to Bro. Eli Soriano's preaching, I can't help but cry. I realize how lucky we are to have our son. He is the most special gift of life to us.
